Hi all I’m 17 and a female. I’ve had lots of crushes on girls, many of which were older women (teachers, coaches, etc.) but also some my age (I think I’m more interested in girls my age now). I have strong romantic feelings for women/girls but no sexual feelings. Really really want to hug them though and Amelia Shepherd from Greys Anatomy is sooo adorable. I get nervous around girls I like, though I think I may be more attracted to their personality. I'm confused because I heard straight girls also find other women atractive, they just like guys more. I certainly do not like boys more, but I also don't have strong sexual feelings towards girls?

I think I would enjoy kissing girls and maybe sex would be okay?? but I’m not sure because I’ve never done it. I’m not turned on by porn though. I’ve never liked boys in any shape or form. What does this make me???

You are definitely attracted to women in a romantic way but not so much in a sexual way at all. An asexual lesbian perhaps.

You are young and my question is, are you ready to accept what your soul wants.

With all the background noise, could you be inhibited from wanting to have an intimate relationship with a woman?

Is it possible if you were able to close out the world around you, a woman you find makes you heart beat faster, leans in and gently kisses you. You soon find her hands slowly dancing over you body, making you quiver in anticipation.

Over time you desire to do the same with you as your connection grows deeper.

Is this something you are interested in?

    Thxs for the responses!
I guess I have no idea because I have no experience. Especially since quarantine, I really haven't seen anybody lately. I am definitely open to trying though, and if it is a girl I like, I imagine it would be exciting. I'm just confused because my friends all seem to watch porn and feel sexual attraction, yet porn doesn't turn me on. I'm afraid it would be the same in real life.

There is a huge difference in being in love/intimate with a person and watching porn and for some, porn is a turn off.

It is hard but give it some time and you will know the right thing when it comes.

Be kind to yourself - Jo

Yes, yes, and yes! What we see on video or a movie, has a different spin to it compared to real life experiences.

Take your time learning about who you are and who you are attracted to, the why behind it. It’s a journey and you learn new things no matter how many years you have lived. Don’t let people rush you to identify what type of person you are or to do this and that. That’s not healthy and people who don’t respect your boundaries are the people you do not need to communicate with.

Thanks to both of you for the advice! It was very helpful as I have been questioning myself a lot lately. I will keep it in mind.
